PETALING JAYA, 6 MAY 2026: The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) successfully hosted MyCEB Association Day 2026 at Sunway Resort Hotel today, bringing together association leaders, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and advance Malaysia’s position as a leading Business Events destination.

Now in its fifth edition since its inception in 2022, the programme continues to serve as a strategic platform for professional and trade associations to exchange insights, address shared challenges, and explore opportunities to secure international event bids.

Held under the theme “Governing with Purpose. Leading with Impact,” this year’s edition underscored the importance of strong governance and purposeful leadership in ensuring associations remain relevant, resilient, and capable of delivering long-term value to their members and stakeholders.

“Strong governance and effective leadership are essential to ensuring associations remain relevant and resilient. Platforms such as Association Day provide a valuable space for leaders to exchange perspectives and strengthen their role in contributing to industry development,” said Ms Tan Mei Phing, Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB.

The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), including YBhg. Dato’ Shaharuddin Abu Sohot, Secretary-General of MOTAC; YBrs. Mr Chua Choon Hwa, Deputy Secretary-General (Tourism); YBhg. Dato’ Mohd Yusri Mohd Yusoff, Deputy Secretary-General (Culture); and YBhg. Datuk Surrendren, Deputy Secretary-General (Management). Also in attendance were members of the MyCEB Board, KESATRIA ambassadors, and key industry stakeholders.

The programme highlighted the critical role of associations in shaping Malaysia’s Business Events landscape. Beyond organising events, associations serve as key enablers of knowledge exchange, professional development, and international collaboration, while playing a pivotal role in attracting global conferences and conventions to Malaysia.
