Dr. Fei Hao obtained her Ph.D. from the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM). She has served as a Visiting Scholar at the Conrad N. Hilton College (2021–2022) and the University of Surrey (2019). Guided by the vision of “Technology for Humanity,” her research bridges technological advancements—such as artificial intelligence, avatars, blockchain, and contactless technologies—with practical value creation in the hospitality and tourism industry.
Dr. Hao has published over 35 peer-reviewed journal articles in leading journals, including Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research, and the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management. Her research has been supported by sixteen competitive grants totalling over HKD 22 million (approximately USD 2.82 million), funded by major public bodies such as the Research Grants Council, University Grants Committee, and Innovation and Technology Commission, as well as private sources.
In recognition of her scholarly contributions, she received the 2024 SHTM Research Excellence Award (Outstanding Young Researcher) and the School Award for Outstanding Achievement at the School Board level. In parallel with her academic pursuits, Dr. Hao has conducted industry training on AI in hospitality for organizations including the Hong Kong Hotel Association, H World Group, and the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), reaching participants from over 30 countries.
