KUALA LUMPUR: 2 DECEMBER 2025: The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Marriott International Malaysia, marking a significant milestone in strengthening industry cooperation and enhancing Malaysia’s position in the global Business Events landscape.

The MoU exchange ceremony, held at the Marriott Hotel, was witnessed by YBhg. Dato’ Shaharuddin Abu Sohot, Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), and YB Dr. Sivakumar Varatharaju Naidu, Chairman of MyCEB.

This collaboration aligns MyCEB’s national mission to drive high-impact Business Events with Marriott’s global network and world-class hospitality standards, reinforcing Malaysia’s reputation as a premier Business Events destination.

Driving Malaysia’s Global Business Events Vision

The partnership aligns with MyCEB’s 2026 strategic plan, “BE Malaysia Go Global: Unlocking New Markets”, which focuses on expanding Malaysia’s international visibility and attracting high-value Business Events. The initiative targets both established and emerging markets, including the Middle East (MENA), Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and rapidly growing destinations across Southeast Asia.

As of 21 November 2025, MyCEB has successfully generated an Estimated Economic Impact (EEI) of RM4.08 billion generated by international participants for the nation. “This Memorandum of Understanding between MyCEB and Marriott International Malaysia marks an important milestone in advancing Malaysia’s Business Events landscape through strategic collaboration and shared vision,” said Tan Mei Phing, Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB.

“By combining MyCEB’s destination expertise with Marriott’s world-renowned hospitality and extensive global network, we aim to deliver exceptional experiences for delegates while driving sustainable growth for Malaysia’s Business Events industry,” added YB Dr. Sivakumar, Chairman of MyCEB.
