KUALA LUMPUR, 4 August 2026 – Malaysia reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its position as one of Asia's premier business events destinations with the opening of Malaysia Business Events Week (MBEW) 2026, the nation's flagship industry gathering organized by the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB).

Held from August 3–5, 2026, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the 11th edition of MBEW brings together policymakers, industry leaders, associations, academia, venue operators, event organizers, suppliers, and international stakeholders to exchange ideas, forge strategic partnerships, and shape the future of the sector.

Officiated by YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the event underscores the Government's continued commitment to advancing Malaysia's business events industry as a strategic driver of tourism, investment, knowledge exchange, and national economic growth.

To date, MyCEB has secured more than 3,575 business events, attracting over 4.5 million delegates and generating an estimated RM26.7 billion in economic impact for Malaysia. Furthermore, as of June 30, 2026, MyCEB has secured 416 international business events scheduled between 2026 and 2030, with an Estimated Economic Impact (EEI) of RM3.98 billion.

In the first half of this year alone (January 1 – June 30, 2026), MyCEB successfully hosted 194 business events, welcoming 341,182 delegates and generating an EEI of RM1.81 billion. These achievements reflect growing global confidence in Malaysia as a preferred destination for world-class business events.

"This year's theme, 'Weaving Horizons: Shaping the Tapestry of Tomorrow,' reminds us that the future of our industry is built through collaboration. Business events today are far more than meetings and conferences. They are powerful platforms that connect people, attract investment, foster innovation, create employment, and strengthen Malaysia's global competitiveness.

"Together, we must continue working hand in hand to build a stronger, more resilient, and sustainable business events ecosystem," said YB Dr. Sivakumar a/l Varatharaju Naidu, Chairman of the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau.

Inspired by Malaysia’s weaving heritage, the theme "Weaving Horizons: Shaping the Tapestry of Tomorrow" reflects how interconnected ideas, partnerships, and innovation drive the nation's Business Events ecosystem.

Welcoming delegates to MBEW 2026, MyCEB Chairman YB Dr. Sivakumar a/l Varatharaju Naidu noted that the flagship event is far more than an annual gathering:

"Malaysia Business Events Week has evolved into a catalyst for collaboration, innovation, and thought leadership. It is where meaningful conversations begin, partnerships are forged, and new opportunities emerge. I encourage every delegate to embrace this platform to exchange ideas, build lasting networks, and help shape our industry's future together."

Three Core Program Pillars:

  • Educational Days (4–5 August): Keynote presentations, panel discussions, and breakout sessions with local and international experts addressing emerging trends and sector innovation.
  • BE Xchange (3–5 August): Pre-scheduled business appointments connecting 40 exhibitors with 52 hosted buyers to generate commercial partnerships.
  • Product Showcase (4–5 August): Traditional craft demonstrations, local community enterprises, and homegrown brands displaying Malaysia's cultural heritage alongside its Business Events offerings.

The three-day event expects over 500 delegates from Malaysia and eight participating countries. Aligned with Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) and Malaysia MADANI aspirations, MBEW 2026 reinforces the country’s standing as a resilient, innovative, and competitive regional hub delivering lasting economic and social impact.
