With the current COVID-19 pandemic, a substantial number of business events has been cancelled or postponed. This competition would allow the sharing of innovative ideas on organising future business events.

We invite university students and industry professionals to submit your thoughts based on the following categories and scenario. These ideas/input submissions may include a combination of virtual and onsite events, taking into consideration current situation and outlook. Excite your thoughts and enlighten us on how you would organise business events differently in the new norm.

  • One (1) main room for Plenary Session. Auditorium or theater style set up 
  • 15 breakout rooms with 100 pax in each room. ‘U’ shape set up 
  • Exhibition area for product showcase: 3,000 square meters 
  • 24 hours holding the space and meeting rooms 
  • LED screen, staging, sound and lighting 
  • High speed internet 
  • 24 hours security

  1. Submission of entry form (pdf copy) and contents via web-based file transfer/download link (such as via WeTransfer or Google Drive) via e-mail to: competition@myceb.com.my:
    • PowerPoint presentation slides: PDF copy, and
    • Video: 5 minutes maximum duration in MP4 format
    •  Subject of the file transfer email must follow below manner:

JUDGING CRITERIA 


  • The judging process will be using scoring system from the scale of one (1) – five (5) based on five (5) key criteria:

    1. Creativity

    2. Originality of the Idea

    3. Concept

    4. Relevancy

    5. Adaptability
  • The winner will be selected based on the highest average score. If more than one person has the same highest average score, the Head Judge will discuss with the panel to choose the final winner.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. This competition is organised by Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture Malaysia (MOTAC).
  2. There is no entry fee required.
  3. MyCEB to receive all entries by Tuesday, 9 June 2020.
  4. Contents must be original and have not been published.
  5. Only one submission is allowed for each participating individual or team (group). Multiple entries from the same person, team and/or member(s) of the team will be disqualified.
  6. Entry is open to Malaysian citizens and other nationals residing in Malaysia, aged 18 years or over.
  7. Employees of MyCEB including the employees’ immediate family member(s) and anyone connected with the judging of this competition, are not allowed to participate.
  8. Submission of contents and video to be in English language and must refrain from including any type of sensitive issues such as (and not limited to) concerning race, politics and religion.
  9. MyCEB will have full ownership including full usage rights concerning the intellectual property of all components and aspects of the submitted entries such as (and not limited to) information, data, imagery and contents in all formats.
  10. MyCEB reserves full rights to use and reuse the submitted contents for any legally compliant purpose such as for event management, sales, marketing, promotional, research, industry and product development activities.
  11. Entry form (pdf format) must be submitted together with contents by sharing a web-based file transfer/download link (such as via WeTransfer or Google Drive/equivalent) via e-mail to: competition@myceb.com.my
    • Indicate if any deadline for the file transfer download in the email.
  12. Mandatory content submission specifications:
    1. PowerPoint presentation slides, written format based on the given scenario: PDF, and
    2. Oral video presentation: 5 minutes maximum duration in MP4 format
    3. Subject of the file transfer e-mail must be indicated as follows: BE Competition Entry June 2020: < Indicate full name of participant or team here >
  13. Upon submission of consent via entry form, the entrant agrees for MyCEB to use his or her personal data for this competition and any related purpose subject to the terms and conditions and in the manner set under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, Malaysia.
  14. The judge’s decision shall be final, and no correspondence would be entertained.
