Malaysia's Credentials

Strategically located in the heart of Asia, the world’s largest economic growth region coupled with its multi-cultural diversity and excellent value for money, Malaysia offers a compelling proposition for international business events that want to connect with Asia and raise their profile in the world’s most populous region. Malaysia’s strength in engaging with new and emerging economic centres also lies in its rich historical links with China, India, and the Middle East while simultaneously enhancing ties with the West.

Local Support

Under the Malaysian Government's ten-year Economic Transformation Programme (ETP), initiated to drive the nation to developed nation status by 2020, business tourism has been identified as an important contributor to economic growth. As such, Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) was established to lead the growth of the international business events market. MyCEB, in close collaboration with the industry, provides a range of support services to bid for and host international business events. The Bureau acts as a conduit between the government and the industry to create a conducive environment for business event organisers.

MyCEB services for local hosts and international business event organisers include bid support, site inspections, government & industry liaison, promotional material, event promotional support, as well as financial incentives. Through its Industry Partner Programme, MyCEB connects business event organisers with a wide network of Malaysian suppliers that provide local expertise and support.

Value for Money

As one of the best value destinations in the world, Malaysia is very affordable for potential attendees and an attractive business proposition for business events. This translates to lower overall expenditure for organisers and the potential to attract a much broader range of attendees.
